Topic Leader: The Reverend Doctor Wallace Schulz

Biography
Born and raised in rural South Dakota, the Rev. Dr. Wallace Schulz graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska in Seward, NE in 1967 and from Concordia Seminary, Springfield, IL in 1973. In 1992, Concordia University, Nebraska, awarded Rev. Schulz a doctor of letters honoris causa.

Rev. Schulz served as a professor of English at Concordia University, Ann Arbor, MI, as a pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sioux City, IA, and on the staff of Concordia University, River Forest, IL, followed by 25 years as a speaker on The Lutheran Hour.

Rev. Schulz served two terms as Fifth Vice President and one term as the Second Vice President of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Rev. Schulz has written extensively and proclaimed the Gospel in the United States and in many foreign countries. He and his family also lived and worked in Latvia and traveled in Russia/Siberia immediately following the collapse of the former Soviet Union.

In addition to serving as a chaplain to medical work among the poor in foreign countries, Rev. Schulz has maintained contacts with and assisted the underground Christian church of China for over a decade. He has participated in several World Congresses on Evangelism, and in 1986, he received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his distinguished service to humanity.

Dr. Schulz currently serves as Executive Editor of the GOOD NEWS magazine, published in 20 languages and distributed in 100 countries.

Dr. Schulz married Kathy (nee Soyk) in 1984. They have one son, Rev. Paul Schulz, born in 1989, a daughter-in-law, Clara (nee Reinke) and one grandson, Peter. Rev. Schulz and Kathy currently reside in Augusta, MO.
